The Structure of the Iron Tiger
The stone’s layers emerge from the union of tiger’s eye, red jasper, and hematite, three mineral components with distinct structures and behaviors. Their combination creates an unpredictable natural surface, where intense red, dark veining, and metallic highlights are distributed differently. Each dial is unique, determined by the composition of the material itself, and it is precisely this union of heterogeneous elements that gives rise to the name Chimera.
Artisanal Precision
The dial is crafted from select Iron Tiger slabs, oriented and cut to enhance their natural layers. Each disc is thinned to approximately 0.4 mm, maintaining the integrity necessary for assembly. A controlled polishing process defines the surface and enhances the contrasts between the ferrous red and golden highlights, before the application of indexes and details.
Material Selection
Each fragment is individually observed and assessed for chromatic quality, layering, and stability. Only those pieces that exhibit a balance of grain, contrast, and structural integrity are selected for processing, in a process that prioritizes the understanding of the material before any technical intervention.
